Part of the pleasure of cooking is gathering your family and friends around the table. Cooks of fashionable as well as culinary inclination aim to present a meal that pleases the eye as well the palate.
Setting a tasteful table that is modern, stylish, and sophisticated is all about great design. Choosing dinnerware that is practical for everyday dining yet elevated enough for elegant entertaining is a study in form and function.
I upgraded my dinnerware from kid-friendly Corelle, to something decidedly more grown-up. When I started looking for a new set, I wasn’t sure what brand I wanted, but I knew I wanted it to be plain white. I just think food looks best on an unadorned, pure white plate.
After some consideration and reading a lot of reviews online, I chose a very chic, classic design by Villeroy & Boch called Artseano.
This award-winning dinnerware is made in Germany of high-quality polished porcelain. It is a very modern interpretation with sleek lines and pronounced rims converging in graceful curves.
The wide-edge plates and bowls give presence and visual interest.I opted for the unique rice bowls which are so wonderfully versatile for everything from soup to cereal. Artesano is dishwasher- and microwave- safe.
Six months later, with daily use, I’m still loving my new dishes.
Good dishes make good food, and good company even better.
