Young women the world over gave a little sigh today, as Prince Harry announced his engagement.
Bride- and Duchess- to-be, Meghan Markle, was all smiles beside her fiancé as the happy couple greeted the press in the sunken garden at Kensington Palace.
Of course what we really wanted to see was what Meghan was wearing, and the engagement ring.
On the sartorial front, she chose a lovely coat (Line the Label), but doubtful shoes (Aquazzura). Peeking below the coat’s hem was an emerald dress (Parosh), and although hidden by her blowout, white opal earrings (Les Plaisirs de Birks).
Her best accessory was the 2.5 ct three-stone diamond ring set in a gold band, designed by Harry himself. It’s a stunner!
It is not only gorgeous, it has a wonderful, sentimental story:
The two side stones for the ring were taken from a brooch of Princess Diana’s, “to make sure she’s with us on this crazy journey together,” Harry remarked in the couple’s first interview as an engaged couple with Sky News, while the center stone was sourced from Botswana, a nod to where they first vacationed as a couple. In the interview, Harry mentioned that soon after meeting Meghan, he persuaded her to join him in Botswana for a camping trip to get to know her without the cameras or their friends watching. He credited that quality time as bring crucial to their budding romance.

Yes, diamonds are a girl’s best friend, but leave it to the Daily Mail to suss out the source of Meghan’s “sparkle” (life circumstances aside). Apparently one of the first things the 36-year-old actress did when arriving in London was nipping off to see beauty guru, Sarah Chapman.
Her luxury beauty line, Skinesis, is available online. It’s even on sale for Cyber Monday. But act fast, today is the last day.
Even though you can no longer get the prince,
you can,still get the skincare.
