In the wee hours of Wednesday morning at the New York Hilton Midtown, all ears were on Donald Trump‘s victory speech as the new President of the United States of America, but all eyes were on his radiant wife Melania, in a stunning Ralph Lauren silk jumpsuit.
The ingenious design draped beautifully on the statuesque Slovenian-born former model and featured a one-shoulder neckline, a half sleeve at the left side, and wide legs with a hem that grazed the floor. The colour? Ivory. Or as some say, suffragist white. The feminine and fashion-forward design out-trumped Clinton’s boxy Mandarin pantsuit, albeit by the same designer.
Good riddance pantsuit nation, hello sophisticated style.
The future-First-Lady, a woman of a certain age, has shown her elegant and refined satorial style throughout the campaign. Leading up to election day, she wore Ralph Lauren, Gucci, Roksanda and Fendi.
She stepped out in New York City to cast her ballot wearing a Michael Kors shift dress, Christian Louboutin heels, and a classic camel, gold-buttoned, coat by Balmain enrobing her shoulders.
Of her fashion style she says:
I don’t follow what is in fashion now, I just listen to myself and what I like… I wait for the right occasion or see how I feel each day.

The upcoming First Lady is like a fashion breath of fresh air.
As a Canadian, I am thrilled with the election of Trump, and congratulate our neighbours to the north for such courage and conviction. By making America great again, the rest of the world will benefit. God bless that.
