Julia & Fred

Canadian indie-rock band, Fast Romantics, have nabbed the 2016 Society of Composers, Authors and Music Publishers of Canada (Socan ) Songwriting prize for their single JULIA. The song was written by founding member, Matthew Angus.

I turned on the bedroom light
but she was sound and sleeping
so I went sleepwalking
with Mary Magdalene

I woke up, uncrossed my fingers
drugstore love was fun
but you know, it can’t be wise
to look into your eyes
wait, just for a second now . . .

The video for the single also garnered the quintet a top 10 Prism Prize nomination. The catchy melodic tune is backed by the smooth moves of the legendary Fred Astaire.

It will be the new song playing in your head all day.

Just hit repeat.
