Out Of This World

Finally, a red wine review.

I have to admit I bought the bottle because of the label. Luckily, it also contains a very good wine.

The backstory is as charming as the drawing:

It is often said that there are more people who have travelled to space than there are Masters of Wine, and while that may be very true, there are many more MW’s than there are cosmic cats. In a uniquely Gallic surge of innovation, 1963 witnessed France entering the feline space race via a cat named Félicette.

A fascinating PawNote:

Félicette was actually the understudy to a cat named Felix.
Unfortunately for Felix, he went missing shortly before the first mission and so Félicette took his place. There is perhaps a more wistful look in the eyes of Félix who also appears on the label.

Alliance Wine

A bright red colour with purplish reflections. A powerful nose of violets and red fruits. Very tasty in the mouth with raspberry and plum aromas. Medium-bodied on the palate, soft and juicy.

An elegant supple, succulent and aromatic Grenache Rouge.

Alliance Wine

Distinctly French – restraint, mineral, varietal definition, balance – perfect for by the glass as an aperitif or with food.

Felicette is for all those who dream to be a little different.
