What to wear with your Chanel suit and quilted Boy Bag? Quilted eyeshadow, of course.
Make-up lovers all over the world have a new technique to perfect courtesy of the Chanel Autumn/Winter 2016 show this morning (see here): the quilted smoky eye.
Leave it to Chanel to compose a beauty look that mimics the cross-stitched pattern of the brand’s iconic handbags. Mon Dieu!
It was nothing short of an artistic stroke of genius by make-up artist Tom Pecheux. And nothing short of a beauty game-changer. The gun-metal shadow pattern extended from the eyelid right up to the brow bone. The ombre shading was so subtle that from a distance it looked like a smoky eye, but up close, the textured effect became apparent. Make-up became an integral part of the tribute to the iconic symbols of Coco Chanel.
The effect was paired with a soft pink lip and generous lashings of mascara. Make-up has moved up the rank as Chanel accessory.
So, if you budget doesn’t stretch to a classic 2.55 handbag ($5,000- $ skyward), a Chanel Ombre palette is just a click away.
