May I suggest a lovely wine for your week-end?
An organic, Spanish white made with 100% Xarel.lo.
It’s pronounced sha-REL-lo or cha-REL-lo depending on the specific town you’re from in North-east Spain.
Typically used in Cava production as part of the triumvirate of legendary white varietals: Macabeo, Parellada and Xarel.lo. Here the grape sings solo, and it hits all the high notes with aplomb.
How can you say no to wine that hints of quince, ginger and pear…and that’s just the nose? The attack is equally inviting, dry, fresh, soft and delicate on entry, with green apple, grapefruit, pear and grassy, ginger flavours. Pure and somewhat lean style but flavourful and perfect for assorted west coast shellfish dishes.
